Again? Image Of Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus Leaked

Image
We have a heard whispers of an upcoming device from Samsung that will bring its flagship model to an even higher level – and that would be none other than the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus, of course. Touted to be the larger version of the existing Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, we are curious to know more about this particular device. Of course, when one says a larger version of the existing model, it would obviously be bigger in size compared to the current 5.1” model, and you will be able to pick it up from just about anywhere in the world already. @OnLeaks has leaked out a snapshot of the device that you see above, which is a rendering that will be accompanied by some other important details such as its dimensions – 154.45mm x 75.80mm x 6.85mm. In other words, taking calculations into consideration, we are looking at a 5.5” display rather than the previously rumored 5.7” display. It will be taller and wider than the standard Galaxy S6 edge, no doubt about that. However, it seems that the...

we'll Design and License Phones Again - Nokia CEO

Image
When a deal with Microsoft allows it to do so in 2016, Nokia plans to design and license phones again. In what comes as no surprise, the company's CEO told Manager Magazin that it would look for interested parties to release the devices when the time comes. "We will look for suitable partners, We would simply design them and then make the brand name available to license." said CEO Rajeev Suri in an interview. Nokia sold its devices and services business to Microsoft last year, but it can begin to license mobile gadgets to other companies next year. If you'll recall, it already released the familiar-looking N1 tablet in China post-acquisition. Of course, Nokia still owns its Here mapping tech, which has reportedly drawn interest from automakers and transportation companies like Uber. While the devices may carry Nokia's aesthetics, keep in mind that the Lumia, Asha and X brands all belong to Microsoft. A company would pay Nokia for the design work and rights t...

Agawi, An App Streaming Specialist Acquired by Google

Image
Right now when we want to access an app, we have to download it first. Granted there are web apps available, they typically aren’t as functional compared to the native ones on our phone. However what if in the future you won’t have to download apps, but instead just stream them from the cloud? That could be the future Google is envisioning. According to a report from The Information (paywall) and subsequently confirmed by Google, the company is said to have acquired a company called Agawi back in 2014. The company specializes in mobile app streaming, thus giving the user the ability to use the app without needing to download or install it on their phones first. Unfortunately it is unclear as to what Google has planned for the company. In a rather curt statement Google gave to TechCruch, “The Agawi team has joined Google. We aren’t sharing other details.” That being said given Agawi’s specialty, it does seem that app streaming could be on Google...

Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 Officially Launched

Image
The Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 are handsets that we have been hearing about for a while now. In fact just last weekend, photos of the Galaxy J5 were leaked online. Well for those who are eagerly waiting the official news, you will be pleased to learn that Samsung has officially announced both handsets. Now in terms of specs, both handsets share certain features, like LTE, dual-SIM capabilities, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/1.9, and a 5MP front-facing camera with front-facing flashes which presumably are aimed at the selfie lover who feels that maybe front-facing cameras could do with more illumination. Those are their similarities but here are the differences. The Galaxy J5 will be the less powerful of the two. It will feature a 5-inch 720p HD display with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor under the hood. There will also be a 2,600mAh battery accompanying the phone. The Galaxy J7 on the other hand will be more powerfu...

Fashion: Designer 'Tom Ford' Turns Apple Watch Into A Pocket Watch

Image
For those of you who follow the fashion industry are probably familiar with the name and designer that is Tom Ford. Ford is known for his stylish and classy-looking pieces and it looks like he might want to bring back the pocket watch. This was recently spotted as part of Tom Ford’s Spring 2016 collection by New York Times report Matthew Schneier. As you can see in the image above, a special accessory was created that allowed the Apple Watch to be hooked onto a chain where it pulled double duty as a pocket watch. Now we’re not sure if this is a one-off creation from Ford just to show off his Spring 2016 or if this is an accessory that the fashion designer plans on selling in the future. Undoubtedly it is an intriguing idea and a new way to use the device. However for fitness enthusiasts who love the heart rate tracking system of the watch, obviously having it sit inside your pocket would not help you collect any data at all, so perhaps you might want to reconsider this ide...

Lumia 735 Launched In USA By Verizon

Image
So far no carrier in the United States has launched the Microsoft Lumia 735 but that changes today because Verizon Wireless has become the country’s first carrier to do so. Interested customers can now look forward to picking up this handset from Verizon, the handset that was initially released as the Nokia Lumia 735 in Europe before it was rebranded as the Microsoft Lumia 735. Sadly the same story continues here, the story that’s all too familiar with Lumia fans wishing for a high-end device, which the Lumia 735 is certainly not. Microsoft hasn’t released a truly high-end flagship handset so far but reportedly intends to launch two in a few months from now. Instead it’s a low-end device with a 4.7 inch 720×1,280 pixel resolution display, a Snapdragon 400 quadcore processor from Qualcomm with 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 6.7 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera, LTE support and a 2nd ,200mAh battery. Customers can purchase it from Verizon on a tw...

RUMOR: Samsung & LG’s 2016’s Flagships To Sport Iris Scanning

Image
Fingerprint scanning technology on smartphones has become more mainstream in the past couple of years, namely thanks to the iPhone 5s which introduced Touch ID to the iPhone and subsequent iOS devices. However could it be that fingerprint scanning tech is headed out of the door in favor of iris scanning? According to the latest rumors from South Korea, word on the street has it that both Samsung and LG’s 2016’s flagship smartphones are expected to pack iris scanning technology under the hood which will be used as an authentication system. We have heard of this possibility before and now we are hearing it again, suggesting that perhaps there might be some shred of truth to these claims. It is unclear at the moment as to how effective and efficient iris scanning technology is in smartphones. At the moment and to our knowledge, only the Vivo X5 Pro and the Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G in Japan are the only smartphones that use the technology. One of the reasons why fingerprint s...
