Sony E5663 With 4.6″ 1080p display, 13MP Front Camera and 3GB RAM Specs Surfaces Online

Image
If a new set of scores posted on GFXBench have anything to say then it is that Sony is working on a new powerful compact smartphone that has even better specifications than the XPERIA Z3 Compact. The device in question has the model number E5663. It comes with a 4.6″ 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and a 13 Megapixel front facing camera. The XPERIA X3 Compact in comparison has a 4.6″ 720p display. The E5663 will be powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6795 processor that is clocked in at 1.9GHz. The rear camera has a resolution of 20 Megapixels, probably the same 20.7 Megapixel unit we see on most Sony flagships. The E5663 model number leads us to believe that the device is meant to be launch in India especially since the last two digits of the model number matches those of the XPERIA C4 Dual(E5363) and M4 Dual (E2363). Whether or not this new model will be an India only device is something that remains to be seen. But as of now since we haven’t seen the same device under an...

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Design Revealed in New Case Renders

Image
New renders of a case that are apparently meant for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 give us a glimpse of the upcoming handset’s design. The handset is expected to be announced at IFA later this year in September. We can’t really gather much information from these renders especially due to the low quality of the renders themselves. However we can clearly see the cutout for the stylus along with the newly designed ports at the bottom that are very similar to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Judging from the render, the Note 5 is also likely to stick to a microUSB port instead of adopting a USB-C port that was rumored. However considering the fact that many manufacturers are soon likely to adopt the new standard and even OnePlus confirming that they will use USB-C for the upcoming OnePlus 2, there are chances that Samsung too may make the change before the final version is finalised. The camera hump from the S6/S6 Edge is also present on the Note 5 renders but the position of the IR blas...

BBM Protected Now Works With iOS And Android

Image
BlackBerry Messenger is no longer exclusive to the company's own devices. It is available for rival platforms like iOS, Android and Windows Phone. However some BBM features start off by being exclusive to BlackBerry smartphones. One of those features is now being expanded to the iOS and Android apps. BBM Protected is available for both popular mobile platforms.. Launched not too long ago BBM Protected provides enterprise-grade security for instant messaging while retaining all of the features that users might expect from a consumer IM app. BBM Protected encrypts all messages with keys that are generated by the communicating mobile devices themselves. BlackBerry explains that this is instrumental is preventing "man in the middle" attacks and thus it provides greater security than competing services. This feature is geared towards business users who once exclusively relied on BlackBerry hardware and software. While that's not the case anymore BlackBerry seeks to reta...

Google Set To Bring Free Wi-Fi To Major Cities Around The World

Image
It might sound unbelievable but it appears that Google intends to bring free wi-fi accees to major cities around the world. Larry Page earlier this month announced that the company is launching a new startup called Sidewalk Labs which is built to help incubate and develop technology for cities. The new venture, aptly named Intersection, will seek to bring free public Wi-Fi to cities around the world using different pieces of urban infrastructure, from pay phones to bus stops. "The vision really is to make cities connected places where you can walk down any street and have access to free ultra high speed Wi-Fi," says Dan Doctoroff, the former CEO of Bloomberg and one-time deputy mayor of New York City, who heads up Sidewalk Labs. "The possibilities from there are just endless." You like this? Do you want to be informed once new article is published? If YES! Snapdragon 820 SoC undergoing some testing, Will Soon Be Launch

Image
We've all heard the stories and the explanations, promises and let downs surrounding the Snapdragon 810. The whole overheating saga has entirely engulfed the existence of the beastly SoC and has rendered it a major market failure. The drama still rages on, especially since a few unlucky upcoming devices, like the OnePlus 2 are still set to incorporate the troublesome chip, but Qualcomm seems to be cutting its losses and moving forward. The next major step, of course, is the Snapdragon 820, which initially got announced at MWC 2015. It promises cutting edge performance and far better handling of overheating and throttling, a lesson which the manufacturer had to learn the hard way. Since then, news has mostly died out and the chip sunk into the realm of rumors. There were even talks of a sibling, dubbed the Snapdragon 815, but that was quickly denied. The Snapdragon 820, however, is still on its way and a new report shows that it might be closer to consumer markets than ever. Accor...

Future Apple Watches Could Prevent Repetitive Stress Injury

Image
It is not secret that sitting in front of your computer all day and typing away on the keyboard is bad for your health as it could potentially lead to repetitive stress injuries such as carpal tunnel. Well Apple might have a way to help prevent that, or at least notify you so that you can work towards preventing it yourself. In a patent discovered by Patently Apple (via cult of mac ), it makes reference to a potential future Apple Watch in which the sensors on the underside of the watch can measure things such as “skin proximity and tilt effect”, basically saying that the watch will be able to tell where the watch is on your wrist in relation to the ground. Why is this important? Basically it will be able to gather data such as how much your wrist is bending, which in turn will be able to look out for signs that you might be on the path towards giving yourself a repetitive stress injury. Right now there are smartwatches and fitness bands that alert the wearer that they hav...

It also comes with 1GB RAM, but has just 4GB of expandable internal memory. Camerawise, the successor to last year's Sonata features a 5MP rear and 2MP front unit. It packs in a 1650mAh battery, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. As for the price, while the Marvel carries a tag of $59.99 without...

Google Search Engine: Hillary Clinton Will Be Next US President

Image
Just how far can artificial intelligence, coupled with the power of a great search algorithm go? Quite far, apparently, as Microsoft’s Cortana has proven itself to deliver some rather startlingly accurate results for the Eurovision Contest as well as the World Cup. I do wonder whether Cortana would agree with Google’s search engine that the next president of the US will be Hillary Clinton – now that would clearly be a momentous time for the entire world. Basically, when Google search was asked the question: “Who will be the next president?”, it replied with a card that mentioned two words: Hillary Clinton. Apparently, a couple of different ways in which the question was asked resulted in a similar answer, which might just be a glimpse into the future. It remains to be seen how Google’s search engine works when it comes to optimized results, and I am quite sure that there will be plenty of explanations from the layperson, but for the moment, would yo...

This was confirmed by Apple with an update to their website, claiming that on the 17th of July the Apple Watch will be rolling out to three additional markets. Safe to say that not all countries have been listed yet so if you don’t see your country on the list, fret not as we’re sure that Apple will eventually get around to adding you guys to the list, so for now we suppose you will just have to remain patient. Sony BSP60 Speech Recognition Bluetooth Speaker

Image
Who would have thought that the Bluetooth speaker market would have thrived? It seems that there are more and more choices to pick from each day, as different hardware manufacturers step out from their respective shells in order to investigate such a potential best seller. Sony too, has interests in this niche market, and they are all set to light up July 11th with their new spherical speech recognition Bluetooth speaker, known as the Sony BSP60. When it is paired to a compatible device, the Sony BSP60 will be able to play back your favorite tunes that are stored on a smartphone or tablet, which in turn would open the door for you to enjoy hands-free phone conversations. Not only that, you will be able to figure out the weather, and the BSP60 will also be able to read out your schedule for the day – without you having to lift a finger or press a button, now how about that? Apart from that, it is not a cold and calculated machine, since it will be agile enough to groove to your m...

Asus Zenwatch gets a price cut – Now available for US$ 150

Image
While Asus announced the Zenwatch 2 earlier this month during Computex, the original Zenwatch has been around since late last year. Now the original Zenwatch has received a price cut and is available for US$ 150. That is a pretty good deal for a smartwatch that was one of the first to receive the updates to Android 5.1.1. However on the flipside, it is important to note that the Zenwatch doesn’t support Wi-Fi functionality even after the update since it doesn’t have the necessary hardware to do so. Even then it is quite a good deal especially for those of you who are still toying with the idea of getting a smartwatch but aren’t quite sure and don’t want to invest much in it. The Zenwatch has quite a classy look as well along with its dial that is shaped quite differently from the regular rectangular or round smartwatches. However unlike the Zenwatch 2 which is available in both 37mm and 42mm sizes, the original Zenwatch just has one size. Where to buy?   ...

Nintendo Worried That Competitors Might Steal Their NX Ideas

Image
Nintendo has a new console in the works which they announced earlier this year dubbed the Nintendo NX. We suppose it will be the successor to the Wii U but oddly enough despite the curiosity and excitement of a new console, Nintendo had chosen not to reveal anything about it during E3 2015. The reason? Apparently Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata is worried that if they revealed it too early, the competition might steal their ideas and bring it to the market ahead of them and thus render the console no longer special. This is according to a post by @NStyles which was then translated by @Cheesemeister3k. We suppose that makes sense but at the same time this means that the public will just have to speculate at what the Nintendo NX could be, which previously was speculated to run on Android but was later refuted by Nintendo. Iwata went on to state that until the NX was launched, the company would continue to support the Wii U and 3DS consoles. According to Iwata (once again based ...

Does your phone Lag alot? Three quick ways to instantly speed up your Android phone without app

Image
Everyone’s looking for easy ways to speed up their phone, especially methods that don’t involve rooting or, well, buying a new one. Here’s three quick tips that can give you instant performance benefits. Change your launcher Most Android phones come with the manufacturer’s custom skin which contains additional software and functions over that which you would get from the ‘vanilla’ build of Android. While these skins often add useful features they can also be quite large and demanding on the phone’s resources and cause it to be slowdown in the process. Changing to a third party launcher can bring about noticeable improvements in speed, especially one of the more stripped back launchers like Nova or Apex. These are faster and free from lag, but note that in some cases the stock launcher will continue to be loaded into memory as well. Android hacking problems solved: How to fix a bricked phone and more

Image
There are many benefits to be gained from hacking and modding your phone. But it can be a daunting process with a steep learning curve. Many users will find themselves following instructions without really understanding what is happening. To help you understand a bit more about the issues involved we’ve taken a look at some of the frequently asked questions users have about rooting. MTN 3GB HOTTER .CLICK HERE Will I still get OTA updates on a rooted phone? The answer to this depends on who manufactured your phone. Generally speaking, if you are rooted but still running the original, unmoved ROM then your device should still check and alert you to the availability of over the air updates. Installing them will very likely unroot your phone in the process so you will need to reroot afterwards. If you have modded your ROM, including relatively simple things like removing pre-installed apps, then the OTA update will probably fail. Reversing the mods should make it work again. If y...

Freetel Of Japan Delivers New Windows 10 Mobile Handsets

Image
Windows 10 is all set for a launch on PCs as well as tablets in a few weeks’ time, and one ought to take note that the reveal for smartphones will happen only some time later this year. However, some manufacturers have already revealed their first Windows 10 Mobile handsets, including Freetel from Japan. Not one, but two Windows 10 Mobile handsets will be made available to the masses, with the Katana 01 and Katana 02 being the ones involved. The Katana 01 is not going to wow anyone at all who are on the lookout for flagship devices, since this happens to pack in its fair share of entry level specifications, such as a 4.5” IPS LCD display with FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution, an unknown quad-core processor, a camera at the back with dual-LED flash and a 1700mAh battery. Arriving in silver, black, yellow and purple shades, it will cost $160 a pop. As for the Katana 02, it looks set to arrive only in black, and will cost $240 a pop – with a quad-core processor, a 5” HD (1280 x 720 pi...

Reviewer: Microsoft Band Heart Rate Monitor Is Rather Accurate

Image
The Microsoft Band is definitely a piece of wearable technology that is worth your while in checking out – since it does more than just offer you the time, but will also be able to keep track of your heart rate too, now how about that? Fitness buffs would definitely love such an idea, but just how accurate is such a device? MIT Technology Review claimed that testing out the Microsoft Band alongside the Apple Watch, reviewer Rachel Metz claimed that the Band had “average heart-rate measurements (that) were consistently closer to the results of the Polar chest strap – sometimes within a beat or two per minute”. The control was a Polar H7 Bluetooth chest strap that has been touted to be one of the “most accurate consumer devices for measuring heart rate”, and as for going off tangent, the Microsoft Band might have a bad day at the proverbial office by being off by “as many as 13 beats” per minute. As for the Apple Watch, how did it fare? It...
